Owner/Operator BNL Biology Dept.
Operational (general use) yes
%Time available (general use) 75%
Beamline Schedule not available
Experiments MAD
Source bending magnet
Ring Current(mA) 300
Average Beam Lifetime 20-40 hours, fill every 12 hours
Spot Size 0.3H x 0.5V mm, adjustable.
Optics double-crystal monochromator Si(111), beam focused by a toroidal mirror.
Flux 0.5 x 10E(10), X-Ray photons per second through a 200 um aperture, 300, 2.6 GeV, lambda 1 Ang
Flux Details flux measured in 1997 corresponds to NSLS x-ray ring emittance of 90 nm-rad. NSLS x-ray ring emittance has improved to 45 nm-rad, and this has resulted in about a factor of 2 increase in the delivered fluxes. A more up-to-date sampling of the flux is not yet available.
